A very green person, a lighting professional, suggests that CFL's are not, given the extra resources needed for constructing the plants to make them and for generating the extra materials in them. Beyond the energy balance asked in the question, are other environmental factors involved? I doubt, for example, that consumers will drive 10 miles to a hazardous waste disposal site to get rid of one bulb, or even put it in a separate bag ( under most current law and regulation regimes). In other words, what should a trying-to-be-green consumer do? Does it matter that I happen to be in the US? And need dimmable bulbs?

I have a freind that is married. Her boyfriend at the time beat the hell out of her and put her in the hospital. Well two weeks later they go to the county court house and get married. At least once a month she is leaving him for the beatings but she always goes back. Right now they have been married for a little less than 6 months and she has left him again because he beat the **** out of her and put her in the hospital. But we all have a feeling that she will go back. I have been married for 3 1/2 years and my husband has never raised a hand to me. But I know that if he did he would be sorry. So why do women constantly put themselves through the abuse?

i have an extremely high sex drive, and even after sex with the guy im dating, i want more or want to go longer, we take the time we can to do it (any time, halftime during a game we're watching, when he comes home from work for lunch, and when he was in college, when he came home in between classes), and he gets the job done, very very well, i just always want more. is being horny 24/7 normal? I've heard people say it will go away after the I do's but ive been engaged (one of them i swear seemed like we were already married) and it continued.

My six year old has been the only child for about 4 years, and now she has to share the glory of childhood with her 16 month old brother. It's like she HATES him. She has gone as far as hurting him, and just pain out being rude to him. Her thing is that we don't punish him like we do her (the cornor, grounding, etc...) We have tried to explain to her that he's too young for that kind of punishment but she still doesn't get it. Don't get me wrong, we spank him when needed. But that's about all you can do for a baby this age. When she see's him getting spanked, it's like a litte switch goes off in her head, and she gets this evil look in her eye's,like, "Yes! get him MOM, get him...." I find it kind of scary. I even take out time in the day just for her and I to play, and do things. But it's not enough for her. Its like it's all or nothing for her. And everytime we try to talk to her about it she starts the eye rolling and really doesn't listen to us at all. PLAESE HELP ME!
