I've repeatedly been told that Florida's pulic schools are deficient and they're among the worst in the country. I have NO idea if that's true or not, and have not found a way to compare Florida's public schools to those in other states. any ideas??

I'm obviously happy to be living it a place and time where I'm not rejected from higher education because of my gender, but I'm alarmed to see that there are still people who prepare their male children for careers and their female children for marriage. In any case, how do you feel about stay at home moms/dads and the glass ceiling in the workplace? I'm just curious to hear any general comments regarding the topic of gender roles ...

Why a Jew can grow his beard in order to practice his faith But when Muslim does the same, he is an extremist and terrorist!Why a nun can be covered from head to toe in order to devote herself to God But when Muslimah does the same she is considered oppressed .
When a western women stays at home to look after her house and kids she is respected because of sacrificing herself and doing good for the household? But when a Muslim woman does so by her will, they say, "she needs to be liberated"! Any girl can go to university wearing what she wills and have her rights and freedom? But when Muslim woman wears a Hijab they prevent her from entering her university!
When a child dedicates himself to a subject he has potentials. But when he dedicates himself to Islam he is considered hopeless!
When a Christian or a Jew kills someone his religion is not mentioned, but when Muslim is charged with a crime, it is Islam that goes to trial!

My family had a house near the beach in Ct that had an undeveloped area next to it. A sleazy builder bought it and had 3 surveys done and chose to go with the one that put his property line well into ours (in the middle of our driveway). He then developed three houses on it. The property should have only sustained 2 according to building code, but with the extra he did it anyway. Is there any true recourse that will correct this injustice without costing anything or at least a minimal amount. The answer should be legally enforcable (IE no civil action..it's virtually unenforcable).

Today I turned on my 20" iMac G5 and I saw smoke coming out of the computer. The fan came on very loud like a jet. Then the screen was flashing and I smelled something that was like burning rubber coming from the computer. I am now concerned that if I turn on this iMac again and leave it alone it will catch my house on fire. Has anyone heard of problems like this one.

Everything was going perfect until one night I get a IM from him saying we
need to talk and not on the internet on the phone and I was like okay. I
kinda knew what was coming. Well if you havent already guessed it yes he
broke up with me and this was right before our 11th month anniversary too,
the funny thing is he didnt really have a reason as to why he was doing it
and it was also very random and came out of know were because two nights
before he came over and we got along really good and he didnt act like
anything was wrong he even said to me a couple of times that night I love
you so much so I thought everything was going perfect I never in a million
years would have guessed that he was going to break up with me. I still
really really like him seeings how he took my virginity and everything.
Every time I think about it, it makes me more and more upset please I just
need some advice and encouragement on how to get over him.
