if you do not plan on it? Why can't a guy just be straight up and say (or something along this line), "Well, it was nice meeting you, but I don't see this going any further"/

I think most guys feel that the girl will be distressed if they were told "I am not interested". (Personally, I feel more guys would be upset than the girls would be) If we say "I will call you" then there is some hope" for the "fragile girl". And of course, you don't want to burn the bridge TOO quickly..

Because most dudes don't have the courage to tell a girl to her face that he's not interested. Take my advice... if the guy really wants to keep it on, he will call. If he doesn't call, he's either a) trying to be a "pimp", b) not interested, or c) got hit by a bus and is unable to call. Either way... you're better off just moving on. Unless he got hit by the bus - then go get him some flowers or something.

Because guys are too afraid! Would you say that to someone if you had a bad date? No, you don't want to hurt their feelings. If he really likes you, he'll call and maybe even set the next date right then and there. But for the most part, they are too afraid to reject you right in front of your face!

Because there are girls out there who would flip out on them. It's just easier for them to say they will call and then let it go at that. I'm not saying that it's the right thing to do, but it happens. You need to read the book, "he's just not that into you". It's hilarious!

Because the guy doesnt want to hurt the girls feelings, if i was to say something like "your nice but your not the type of girl i'm looking for", that would have you ask yourself if theres somthing wrong with you or something... (no?)

It could be different things. Maybe he felt that he wasn't to your standards or vice versa. I on the other hand will tell the person straightforward and say that I don't want to see her as a g/f but just have her as a friend.

Some men are sensitive to women's feelings and think that stringing them along will prevent them from being hurt. That just means that alot of us need to be educated on women.

Girls can't handle the truth. We just say it to be polite. If we were to say "I had a nice time but I'm not interested in you," the girl my go crazy and smack you. It's not worth it. It's easier (and safer) to say "I'll call you later."

For me myself and i, i do call or attempt, have been given fake numbers or just get the machine. But i do not want a woman thinking there is something when there is not.

your right, they should just b honest, i think they just don't feel comfortable telling them in person and rather take the easy way out and say they'll call but never do, i completely agree with u, they should just b straight up.
