I went to a shooting range with my guy, and i shot a pistol and a shot gun (both twice) for the first time. I shot a 12 gauge and a glock 17. Now I am soo addicted. I want to go again. :)

I heard the food was bad and some say it was good. The food is my main concern. I love to eat. Who wants to go on a cruise if the food is not good. LOL!!

I was forced to quit my last job due to me being singled out and my hours cut. I had worked my tush off for this company for nearly a year and I was targeted and still don't know why. I will not sign a statment saying that I quit since I am trying to get unemployment (yes you can get it if you were forced to quit due to cut backs) and they aren't being nice about it. I have spoken to the place that deals with Labor Laws and they sent me paperwork to fill out if they refuse to give me my check due to that. Still I'd like to know what everyone else would do if you were in this situation, please no smart as* answers. I am doing my best to take care of a family and am looking for a new job and didn't do anything to deserve to have my hours cut.

Did your English Pilgrim Fathers give you the old origional game of football that involved much use of the foot to kick a spherical ball, in addition to punching and kicking and knocking people over? Or, did they give you the English game of Rugby Football played using the League rules? Your game looks and plays like an adaptation of the League rules Rugby Football game.

We show you respect by refering to your game as Football, but we do prefix it with American to make it clear we are not refering to the actual game of Football.

The Irish show respect (and that is amazing) to the game by calling their game Gaelic Football and the actual game, Football. Likewise the Australians call their game Australian Rules Football (closer to Gaelic) and the actual game, Football.

You show no respect! Yoy call the game Soccer Ball. Why?

Here was the question: "What do u think my dad did with the dogs?" posed by a 12 year old girl recently. Why are there so many sick jokes about how people think her father may have shot or BBQ'ed the dogs? Is it asking too much to try to have a little sensitivity towards children asking questions on here?

My parents got rid of the TV because they don't like some of the shows on there. Now they want to get rid of the computer because there is bad stuff on the computer too. They don't want me to buy any teen magazines, but I do anyway and I hide them good. I told my parents that 'bad stuff' is everywhere, and they can't keep me inside a bubble forever, but they just said that getting rid of the TV and computer would be good for me. Keep in mind that I'm 14, and when any of my fave shows are on, my friends have to record them for me and give them to me without my parents knowing. The shows aren't even bad! I had American Idol taped for me.
What should I do to convince my parents that bad stuff is everywhere and by hiding me they're just making it worse?

This might not be the right location to post but since I usually post in immigration, here goes:
The first permanent English colony was in Jamestown (in present day Virginia) in 1607. The Pilgrims didn't arrive until 1620 in present day Massachusetts.
I've notice A LOT of Hispanics get this wrong. It makes me suspect if they know anything about Hernando Cortez, the Aztecs, or their own Mexican history (for those of them who are Mexicans and not some other nationality). Anyway I digress.
Of course the first permanent European settlement in the present U.S. was St. Augustine, Florida.
Of course the first European to set foot in the present U.S. was Christopher Columbus (when he landed in Puerto Rico.) Well there are many historians who believe Lief Ericson made it as far south as the present U.S. circa 1000.
Of course the first European settlement in North America was started by Eric the Red circa 975.

We have made and offer to buy contingent that our home sells. We have until August 1st but we are thinking of changing our minds. Although we can afford the home, we just don't want to be strapped down that much. Can we break this contract to buy before the August 1st date w/out a fee?

Should some Christians stop being negative and judgmental when spreading the good word? Should some non-Chrisitians stop judging all Christians based on the bad actions of a few? What is to be done?

P.S. - I am not trying to endorse the Christian religion, preach to anyone, etc. Just ask this as a generic question.
