For sure when he is 18 it is legal. But in some states statutory rape ages vary from16-18. And wether they are having sex or not is something else I believe that in some states even if they are not having sex if they are in a romantic relationship and they are not both of age (whatever that age may be for that state) then it can still be statutory rape.

only if her parents turn him in. When I was 14, I dated a boy that was 16, and we dated for 2 1/2 years. He was 18 and I was 16 goin on 17 when we broke up. It was fine, as long as it was ok with my parents, which it was.

That depends on the state they live in and when she will be 18. Also if the parents are going to complain or not can be a major factor. Have your friends look into their states statutory rape law and it should tell them the exact age in days.

If she is 17, she is in the age of consent , in most states..
So, I dont see how this could be illegal..
he is very close to her age, I guess it depends on how the parents feel..
There are alot of laws and alot of loopholes out there, it varies by state, situation, and how the parents feel about the situation on behalf of the minor child

Only if they are having sex...but that close in age I really don't see why any one would stir up trouble with it. Especially if they've been together for over a year. I wouldn't sweat it if I was her.

If your refering to sex, depending on the state your living in, he is considered of adult age and can be prosecuted for sexual contact with an underaged girl. (18 limit in Calif.)
