According to Christians, Joshua Bar Yusef ( the real name of Jesus Christ) is the same enitity as the Old Testament Jewish god(s) YHWY and/or El who Chrsitians refer to as God the father.
From reading the bible it seems that JBY was a peaceful, and rather good entity, epitimised by his turn the other cheek attitude. I don't understand how he can be the same entity as the Old testament God who seems rather violent and evil. For example in Judges 11 (28-39) Jepthah makes a deal with God to make a human sacrifice by burning in exchange for a military victory, and God ends up accepting the sacrifice by burning of Jepthah's only daughter. From memory I also remember that when the Old Testament Joshua was battling the Cannanites God instructed him to kill them all, women and children too. To you Christians who accept the Bible literally how can you explain how the Peceful and rather loving enity you call Jesus is the same enitity as the Old Testament God, who seems a cruel viceous bastard

My boyfriend joined the army and left for basic training a week ago. We have been together for 7 months. I am in love with him and I want to spend the rest of my life with him, but I don't know if I can handle being away from him for months at a time. If he gets deployed he'll be gone for up to a year. If you guys were in my shoes would you stay with the person, or would it be too hard for you?

how do you believe in your religion when you u see so many hatred being spread in the name of our religion ... whether we like it or not there are verses in our holy book that confuses me ..
to fellow muslim sisters what is your thoughts when you see verses that allow men to hit a women according to his judgement..(such verses scares me)
please try to explain...
to fellow non-muslims please don't give hateful remarks about our religion... i am not asking that..

I am about 25 pounds overweight which probably contributes to my sweating. However, I have had this probem all of my life. Everyone around me is calm and cool and I'm hot and sweaty. It has been very embarrasing most of the time. I've had to leave a church service because I could not stop sweating. Is there a cure for this problem? Please give me some answers to rectify the problem.

My tourque converter is unplugged so it will run and I know that doesnt help but the gas milage has recently gotten worse. Someone said it could be the fuel injectors...any ideas of what it could be?

does not everyone deserve a homeland? I know many people are sympathethic to israel, but most israelis have high standards of living while palestinians live in poverty and are overcrowded in refugee camps . I know many people are against them for suicide bombings and such, but many more palestinians have been killed than israelis, the israeli soldiers often kill innocent civilians or harass them. all I am asking is what do you have against someone having a homeland? the jews got theirs, which they deserved, but palestinians should have one too, even if they have to share it, why does on group have to have it all? why not share it?( I know there are many extremist who want all or nothing, I don't support that, but can't understand why they hate israel? if someone took your home away from you, wouldn't you be a little pissed?

It comes and goes. When it's there my stomach is hard from just below my breasts down. It's not a gassy feeling, and I'm not nauseated. I have been regular. It just hurts and is uncomfortable. Could it be a virus?
