Thousands of women that know breast-milk is the best way to infuse your child with the auto-immune bodies that keep it protected from all sorts of nasty bacteria and viruses out there. The child grows up much more healthier.
A breast milk "pump" actually makes the milk accessible to the child when you can't offer it person to person. Sometime the nipples get so sore, cracked, etc. that the mom wants to wait a while for her tenderness to heal a bit before letting the child near the chest area. It can be really a trial when the skin gets raw. If your nipples dry out purchase some regular over the counter Vitamin E capsules and split one open and squeeze the Vitamin E fluid over the tender inflamed and sore/dry area. Do this a few times a day and it won't be long before you can have your baby "back" at "home" again. In the meantime it is important to always keep some "extra" fresh milk in the frig. and available in care of emergencies. The pump can be tricky so ask your doctors nurse, by phone is OK, just what her suggestion is if you are having trouble! Most women know that the breast pump is the best way to take care of your baby, if you can't breastfeed in public and on the road, you can have it in the bottle on a short trip, or on ice on longer excursions. You are dong the best thing possible of ALL things, for you childs well being and health.
