I recall answering a similar question a week or so ago that went something like this:

Words would not be enough to describe the undescribable but one's imagination can only soar so much as the mysteries begin to unfold before your very eyes...

I would think that just by 'BEING THERE' one would be in SO MUCH AWE to be in the presence of the MOST SUPREME GOD...

That you would not even get distracted by the multi-colored sprectrum of forests, the flora and the fauna... The trees would be made of transluscent crystalline leaves made of jade... Gushing fountains in ponds and waterfalls cascading in their own little corners...

And you would seem to be floating a foot above the ground without having to actually walk... Your eyes would be transfixed to this bright, shining walled-structure gleaming in gold up ahead on a rise...

Where you know that your room in one of the mansions awaits you... Oh, the sublime Wonder of it all...!!

...And along the way you begin to recognize some of your loved ones also going in the same direction...

Yet you remain quietly in awe about the entire experience, touching and grasping each other's hands, listening to the angelic choir singing their welcoming and soothing melodies...

As you approach closer and closer to the Bright Shining Light...

I dunno... that's one version of it. What's yours??

Peace be with you!

The clearest definition of what heaven IS and will be LIKE is found in Revelations 21:1-4:

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband....

(This is the capital city of heaven, a place of perfect hoiness. It is seen "coming down out of heaven" indicating it already existed; but is descends into the new heavens and new earth from its place on high. This is the city where the saints will live.)

And here's a glimpse of what heaven will be like..."and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."

AND...See Revelations 22:1-7 like my sister below suggests! Yes, that's hot!

I understand that the kingdom of heaven is within man , i.o.w. , it is a condition that our minds are in currently, providing we have found this condition, hence : seek ye first the kingdom.
To me this means while we are in the physical body, we can taste of it partly, because of the fleshly constraints of the mind. When the fleshly mind departs (death ) the soul remains , and the restraints are gone - total peace.
While we are in the flesh, this question cannot be fully explained, only partly, and with parrables.
A drop of water has an identity, but once we drop it in a large volume of water, like in a bucket, it is taken up. Hell is the opposite of peace for a soul.

My church doesn't believe in going to heaven; we believe the kindom of heaven is going to be on earth. Please see all of this!

Heaven is a misled idea!
ROM.10:6 = "BUT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS OF FAITH SPEAKETH ON THIS WISE, SAY NOT IN THINE HEART, WHO SHALL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN? (THAT IS, TO BRING CHRIST DOWN FROM ABOVE).

There's 3 heavens.

First Heaven = This is also called the firmament or expanse of heaven. It is the heaven where the birds fly and where the clouds give rain. (Gen.1:26; 2:20; 8:2 & 1Kings 18:45)

Second Heaven = This refers to outerspace where the sun, moon and stars can be found. (Gen.22:17 & Exodus 32:13 & Joshua 10:13)

Third Heaven = The Apostle Paul tells us that the heaven of God's abode is the "third heaven." In the Old Testament this is often designated by the phrase "the heaven of heavens." (Joshua 2:11 & Psalms 11:4 & 2Corinthians 12:2 equated with v.4 = paradise)

THERE ARE TWO KINGDOMS: ONE ON EARTH AND THE OTHER ONE COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN.

The 1st Kingdom of Heaven =
DAN.7:27 = "AND THE KINGDOM AND DOMINION, AND THE GREATNESS OF THE KINGDOM UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH, WHOSE KINGDOM IS AN EVERLASTING KINGDOM, AND ALL DOMINION SHALL SERVE AND OBEY HIM."
REV.5:10 = "AND HAST MADE US UNTO OUR GOD KINGS AND PRIESTS: AND WE SHALL REIGN ON THE EARTH."

The 2nd kingdom of Heaven =
AFTER 1,000 YEARS = A NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH-HOLY CITY COMING DOWN FROM HEAVEN = REV.21:1-4; ISAIAH 65:17-25; 66:1,22 AND ETC.

SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO---
ISAIAH 66:21; ZECH.14:9-11 = "BUILD HOUSES, PLANT VINEYARDS, EAT VINEYARDS"
ISAIAH 66:23; ZECH.14:16-19 = "WORSHIP FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER AS ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER"
JESUS WILL BE GIVING CITIES TO THE SAINTS INWHICH THEY WILL BE TEACHING OTHERS THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE = MATT.25:14-23; EZEKIEL 36:10,33; LUKE 13:26; ISAIAH 61:4
WE WON'T MARRY OR BE GIVEN UNTO MARRIAGE = MATT.22:30
BOYS AND GIRLS WILL BE PLAYING IN THE STREETS = ZECHARIAH 8:4-5,8
MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH = PSALM 37:9-11; MATT.5:5; REV.5:10

Well, my friends say that when we go to heaven our memory's will be completely erased. We won't know who our 'parents' were or something like that. But I don't think it'll be that way though.

**NOTE: Don't make fun of me**
I think that it's this really beautiful garden and there's always a buffet with every single dish you can imagine. It never runs out of food. Then there's this carnival near it and they have this sort of a ride called "Marshmallow Pit". it's like you jump off this cliff and then you'll fall into a pit full of marshmallows and you're just bouncing off the air like crazy. LoL.
That sort of thing..

Heaven will be better than the best imaginable, multiplied billions of time beyond that, for the entire whole and extending to the smallest detail in everything

I think that heaven or hell are a continuation of our lives...heaven will mean a life never-ending of the joys we've had...and of course, the hell-a life that will never end with all our problems...

If there is no time in heaven, will I be able to think? What will I do if I can't think in heaven? I don't want to lose my identity either! Oh, and how boring would it be to be singing songs about our creator? Don't you think our creator would want more for us?

Read the Apocalypse of Peter. Peter in case you don't know is one of the disciples of Jesus Christ. I believe you might be able to find it on-line in the early christian writings site.
