I'll be 25 this Thursday and I can't decide on a restaurant to go to. It's been traditional that my family and I go to the Corvette Diner but I got tired of that (I still love the place though; waitresses are cool people and they aren't boring like most restaurants). I've been to Dave&Busters, Karl Strauss, and I was thinking of Gordon Biersch (but I'm not fond of the menu), Kaiserhof (not fond of the 3 course dinner), Anthony's Fish Grotto, etc.

I've got a taste for something tasty but I'm not really in the mood for Mexican food. I'm kinda in the mood for either grilled sandwiches, fish n' chips, or something tangy and zesty without onions. And no, I'm not doing fast food. Places like Hometown Buffet, IHOP, and Cocos are out of the question.

Something nice, decent, not too expensive, etc. (don't suggest Pat&Oscars....although I love their food and find their breadsticks addictive, I don't want that for my birthday dinner). And somewhere close to some scenery or a mall.

Disneyland or Catalina were some options, but both seem to be especially pricey because of the 3-day .... I guess it'll be like that everywhere, got any other ideas?

I will travel from Mexico City to San Diego, and I have been told that flying to Tijuana is the best idea, and after cross the border by walking. What do you think?

so im 21 and moving to california in january. i plan on going to san diego state in a couple years but im going to a community college for a year or two. should it be the san diego area (south county, not north) or OC? im aware of the fact that its pricey, so other than that...what do you think is the way to go? im a laid back guy, the beach is a huge plus, just because its so different from my hometown. im a guy who loves to play music, watch and play sports (all kinds from baseball to hockey to tennis), and traffic-aside, looking for a nice laid-back college lifestyle. and whatever the weather may be like, it beats the you know what out of humidity and rain. the two might be so similar that theres no point in asking, but im looking for a local's persective. i was in both areas 2 weeks ago for 6 days and loved both. went everywhere from petco park in SD to the pier in huntington. just looking for some advice. thanks.

hiya. In san diego, looking for the most central location to stay in where a person could walk around to see the major city sites like old town, etc. which section do you recommend?
is there much to see on coronado island? would it be better to stay there? if so why? or would you recommend beach area like la jolla? but what's the commute like back and forth to town from beach or coronado? i've stayed near the piers (by the tall ships & bordering lil' italy) for comic-con, but everything seems to close up there so early
thanks for your time~

I am looking for a tour boat that leaves out of San Diego for sailing and fun, not a private rental. Prefer Cats or sail boats.

When should we arrive at the park for a 7:00 game? Also, we are counting on finding parking downtown somewhere, as we did not purchase a parking pass. It's Monday night, so it shouldn't be a problem. Should we plan on being IN the park any earlier than 6:30?
