I'm thinking of moving to San Diego, but I hear its very very expensive. So I'm looking for a less expensive, but still SAFE neighborhood. And if you tell me a neighborhood----also----why is it inexpensive? Is it at all dangerous, or is it far away from the best parts of the city, or is it an ugly neighborhood?

This is a stupid question considering I'm originally from the San Diego, California area.
I went to school at Sierra High School but am uncertain about what area of San Diego that the school is located in. Can anyone help?
Also what is the military housing area called that is close to that school?
Thanks for any help.

2 years ago, I was searching a swimming pool in Spokane (WA) and all were amazingly private (for clubs).

My questions: are the swimming pools public (...IN GENERAL...) in smaller cities (ex: Brawley, El Centro, Ramona ...) in South-California?

I am moving to San Diego next April and I am wondering what kinda things can you do there. I only just found out we were moving so I am wanting to find out as much as possible about my new home (moving from Australia and I am 19). What kinda things are popular to do over there, what are some local attractions, any good places to eat? I am also wondering about the tempratures over there (I live in a sub-tropical climate at the moment in Aus, and it has heaps of humidity). Thanks for your help!

I think that it is very complicate to go in Mexico in car.
If I just wish to spend a day in Tijuana, how easy would it be to go there in foot.
I am 49, with a Canadian passeport.

I live in San Diego, CA and have been hesitant to use the heating system or a space heater because of the rise in my utility bill (just graduated college). Although the temperature is about 60 in the day, it gets into the 40s at night and in the early morning. At this rate I figure I am going to have to give in our get pneumonia. What do most people in Southern California do in the winter? Freeze to death, run up high utility bills or... ?

Back home in Massachusetts there was no question, you use the heat, but even in the dead of winter you would never let your house temperature get as cold as it gets here.

I am thinking of visiting San Diego and San Fransisco this holiday (24Dec. to 1st Jan). I will fly to San Diego first, then take a bus trip to San Fransisco. I can fly back to Toronto from either San Diego or San Fransisco. Please advise where to stay, what to do, what to avoid and which bus/tour I could use to go to San Fransisco.

On the morning of Monday, Dec 11, I will be in Chula Vista and will need to make it to Chinatown Los Angeles and back. I'm not familiar with the timing of rush hour traffic as I don't live near. It seems like rush hour lasts 20 hours a day. Thought of leaving at 6 or 7am (flexible). Need an hour or two at destination. I need to make it back to Chula Vista by 3pm. The path seems to take I-5, not sure if toll roads would help. http://maps.yahoo.com/broadband/#mvt=m&q2=725%20N%20Broadway,%20Los%20Angeles,%20CA&q1=Crest%20Dr%20&trf=0&lon=-117.638855&lat=33.346591&mag=10

Between Carlsbad and LaJolla, where is the best place to stay for a month or so?

I don't want a hotel, more like a condo/studio near the water. Nothing fancy, just clean and safe with reasonable rent.

I'm wondering if, since CA is known as a laid back, sunny state, is it more laid back to teach in San Diego and other parts of CA than it is in other parts of the US?
