Los Angeles by a million miles. San Diego is impossible in almost every field due to insane competition. I think San Diego is a great place to visit and an impossible place to live.

LA is where the action is ! San Diego is more for the homebody. It is the home of most retirees while LA is more for the teenagers, working population where nightlife is more lively!
I stayed in San Diego for 2 months earlier this year. It makes me sleepy since the weather is too nice. People I had been there were mostly retired.
I also stayed in LA! LA is where my relatives from San Diego transferred for work and more colorful life.

San Diego is a far nicer place to live, but is there a market for your music here? Maybe you should ask people like Jewel, Jason Mraz, Blink 182, Nickel Creek or POD. They all did pretty well after starting in San Diego or spending parts of their careers here.

LA is where you'd want to be for the recording industry, but San Diego is a much nicer place to live.

you would be able to desire to no longer PAY me sufficient to stay in the two San Francisco or l. a.... and Sacramento's wintry climate fog / summer season warmth are depressing. Of your techniques, i might would desire to p.c.. San Diego (i grow to be stationed there for many of my 26 years in the army). i actual like living outdoors of the cities in California... for the final 7 years we've lived on our little ranch (280 acres) outdoors of Angel's Camp... north of Sonora.
