I am moving to San Diego next April and I am wondering what kinda things can you do there. I only just found out we were moving so I am wanting to find out as much as possible about my new home (moving from Australia and I am 19). What kinda things are popular to do over there, what are some local attractions, any good places to eat? I am also wondering about the tempratures over there (I live in a sub-tropical climate at the moment in Aus, and it has heaps of humidity). Thanks for your help!

I stayed in San Diego for 2 months earlier this year, from January to March. The weather is the best among the places I had been in California so far. However, there were rains during those times.
I bought 2 maps before going on my trip. Both arent that complete. San Diego is so spread out. I both another one which is more complete however, you need a magnifying lens to be able to recognize it.
First of all it is best that you ride the trolley. It is then that I appreciated the totality of San Diego. There is a ticket which you can use for a month which will be more cheaper. There are buses at most trolley station.
Be sure that you park your car well. My friends car was just park at Ralphs in National City and the glasses were broken.
Go to Sea World and San Diego Zoo. Be sure that you go early to these themeparks. Buy their bottomless drinks it would also serva as a souvenir later on. There are scheduled shows especially at Sea World.
Go to Balboa Park, there are museums there! It is better to go to their websites before going there. There are many museums there!
Dont miss Colorado bridge, it gives you a spectacular view of the place. Did you know that Colorado bridge is one of the tallest in the USA and that it was awarded due to its structure? Dont fail to see Hotel Colorado! Didnt you know that it is one of the best not only in the USA but also in the world.
Go to the last American exit. There is an outlet store there in San Isidro! Be careful if you want to go to Tijuana!
Explore Oceanside, it has also a spectacular view. Later on, you can go to Carlsbad, to Legoland! There are strawberry fields there. However, it depends on the season.
Go to yahoo travel. Go to San Diego, down the page, there is the top 10 popular attractions in San Diego, there are websites, schedules and locations of the said places. There is also a slideshow of the place. If you want to monitor the temperature of San Diego, you can get it at your desktop. Go to my yahoo or if you use your IM, you can monitor up to 20 cities at a time. You can compare it starting today so that you will know the difference in your place.
When I was in San Diego it was my first time to ride Greyhound and Amtrak. You can just explore the areas surrounding San Diego and go back for a round trip ! Camarillo was about 4 hours! Riding an Amtrak will be better.

I live in Long Beach now, but I lived in San Diego when I was 23 went to SDSU, I am 31 now but it hasnt changed much. It is beautiful, and the people are more laid back then Los Angeles. There are alot of areas with young people you might want to try the San Diego state area because it will be a little cheaper then Pacific or Mission beach areas, which are really nice. The state college area is about 8 miles inland so it keeps it cheaper. If you want to live near a beach, its cheaper to live in Ocean Beach, its cool down there if you don't mind hippies. I think its kind of tough to plan a move without any real plan, your better off scouting some areas, if your moving with no job, and arent going to college your going to have to have some money to fall back on I wish you luck.

You'll love it here in San Diego! The weather here is very similar to Perth, Aus. There are tons of good places to eat, decent surfing, and we're very laid back. As far as attractions, we have Sea World, the San Diego Zoo (considered the best in the world), Legoland, and Disneyland is less than a 2 hour drive away. Also, we're right next to Mexico, but it's kind of a pain to go there with the wait at the border. There is plenty here to keep you occupied. Have fun!

You'll love the weather.

You'll hate the traffic.

A few too many people, but a fair amount of good attractions.

Best place to hang out is probably Pacific Beach and Gaslamp district of downtown San Diego.

If you live near the ocean, the temperatures are mild. If you live several miles inland, it gets hot. Humidity is not a problem. The boardwalk at the beach is popular. Stop at any Mexican restaurant, even a stand by the road, and the food is fabulous. They use a tasty kind of beef in their tacos and burritos. The San Diego Zoo is one of the best.
