Planning on moving there from Southern California

2006-12-10 15:08:44 · 4 answers · asked by fey128 1

I live in New Hampshire. I think I want to move to a southern state, like missori, or arkansas or alabama. Somewhere where the cost of living is realy low. I'm going to be an airplane mechanic, so I need to be near an airport. Whats it like living down south? I think I'll fit right in, except for the new england accent... Any good places to live down there, suggestions?

I saw this aerial view of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and in the northwest, nw of Rio Rancho, i saw rows and rows of unpaved streets with no development there whatsoever. The streets are named, and have a grid numbering system, but nothing there.

There's a large unpaved avenue running diagonally down the center, called Encino Road.

This area is west of I-25 and south of route 550.

Does anyone know what the deal is here?

I found it via Google Maps with a satellite view. I searched for Rio Rancho, NM.

If you switch to satellite mode, you'll see the streets.

I'll be taking a road trip next week between Las Vegas and Phoenix, AZ. I have a lot of time and never been in the area before (I'm from Canada). First what's the best route (I prefer scenic routes), and second is there stuff to see (I don't mind short detours. Thx in advance.

I am thinking of driving from Sioux Falls to Omaha in early January, to save a plane ticket for such a short flight. I don't know anything about the weather in either of these areas except that there will be snow. How safe do you think this is, for those who know the area? What should I know? Are there any alternatives (train, bus, etc) to driving myself or flying? Thanks.
