I'm taking the greyhound bus into canada, and was wondering what the procedure is...what do they do on the border? Thank you...

When you get to the border, you wait in line while everyone is checked. They need to see your passport and ask why your visiting Canada. Along with how long you'll be there, etc etc. They may ask you to open your luggage so they can check inside. Dont refuse, cause that will only cause you problems. Depending on how many people are on the bus, and what time of day it is, it wont take that long to go through Customs. You'll have to do the same when returning home. Have a great trip!

The border patrol will board the bus and collect everyone's ID (passports) and go back to the control office. After sometime, the guard will re-board the bus and return the ID. Some may be asked specific information about their trip, and they do reserve the right to go through luggage!

i does no longer take a bus from Montreal to Edmonton. I took the bus from Winnipeg to Regina once and that took always. you'd be extra perfect off to fly, in case you may. i'm no longer confident about the baggage on board, yet ever because the beheading on the bus in Manitoba months in the past, it may make experience in the journey that they did ban it, or a minimum of examine luggage.
