I'm thinking about moving to Alaska but want to go and visit for a few weeks before I move there. I'd kind of like to get a feel for the whole state so I plan on keeping on the move and visiting several different parts.

I'm moving to Alaska and want to know if it is hard to find a 4 wheel drive truck there that isn't rusted out. Would it be cheaper to just buy one in the mainland and drive it in?
