I'm planning a trip to Pittsburgh and want to go soon.. What is the earliest I can go? I don't mind the cold. I just want to avoid the snow.. Any advice?

I know this may not be very helpful but if you're going to visit Pittsburgh it's best in the late spring or early summer... If you're heart is set on going in winter though I would go as soon as possible, winter has a tendency to arrive late in Pittsburgh and then overstay it's welcome

The City of Pittsburgh gets a lot less snow than some nearby areas. I live about an hour north of Pittsburgh and we had 4 inches of snow last week and when I got to work in downtown, they had nothing. You go another hour north of me (toward Erie) and the snow really starts to pile up (in a typical winter). I-80 is sort of the snow belt dividing line. As the other folks have said though, things have been really mild so far this year and it looks like it's going to stay that way for at least another week or so.

Well, I'm only a 1/2 hour away from Pittsburgh, and right now the temperature is in the high 50s... and it's supposed to be in the 60s in the next few days... you can go to Yahoo Weather and type in Pittsburgh to see the forecast...

You should come now but after seeing the news we might be lucky to even get snow on Christmas the weather has been very mild lately and looks like it will be this way for while.
