how do i process my visa application?

The ways things have been lately (9/11, influx of overstayers), the US Embassy in Manila has been VERRRRRRRRY hesitant about approving tourist visas.

Unless you can _really_ prove to embassy authorities that you have every reason to go back to the Philippines when you say you will, they will literally laugh you out of the building. That happened to my sisters-in-law, both college aged students wanting to visit the US.

First, you will need a passport. If you don't have one, get one. Start soon, as they typically take a while. Second, go to a US consulate or embassy, and ask about visa requirements. If you need a visa, you will have to fill out a form, present it with your passport, and pay a fee. Then buy your tickets.
