When I get asked for directions to the beach or disney or wherever, I like to say, "OK, take I-95 and head north for about 1000 miles. You can't miss it!" I live in the Tampa Bay area now so I substitute I-75 for I-95.

My husband and I need a vacation!! We both have the 4 day weekend off for Thanksgiving and want to take a roadtrip. Last Thanksgiving we went to New York and we've spent a lot of time in Louisianna helping out after the hurricane so those two are both out. We live in south central Virginia and don't want to drive more than say 8 - 10hours away. Any suggestions on some neat places to visit that are somewhat off the beaten path?

I'm trying to find a way to go home for Thanksgiving and I live in Minneapolis MN. My home is in Appleton, MN. I'm just trying to find a bus or something that will get me close to any city or town by Appleton so I can have someone pick me up from there.

Do you know of any websites that can help me plan my trip? I thought of metrotransit.org but that only shows you how to move around INSIDE the city not to other cities, towns.

Once upon a time I watched a TV program & it had a list of interesting places to see, I think mostly in the USA. There's one that sticks in my head. It was a restaurant that had HUGE hamburgers & you could be in a contest to see if you or a group of people could finish it in like 20 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the restaurant or the state or place that it was in. Do you know? If not, me & my husband plan to visit every state eventually. If you have done any traveling or you live in a certain state, could you tell me your experiences & what you've done & the places you've visited while in whichever state? If there's an amazing thing I should while I'm in so & so state, let me know, it'd be greatly appreciated!

My family & I are are seriously considering moving to the mainland US states. We're unable to afford the increasing living costs here and there is a lack of specialized medical care for the condition one of us is suffering from. Day to day we are struggling to survive financially and relying on friends and family help to get by. Our combined monthly income is about $2500. There are three of us, including me, all adults.

I have lived on Oahu my whole life so I know nothing about the mainland. Despite net searches, I have no clue where to start looking or where to go or how to relocate. I also do not know how life on Oahu differs from life in the mainland US states.

Some things that will affect where we go:
1. two of us have severe photosensitivity to the sun
2. we're looking for someplace that is multi-cultural
3. low crime rate
4. good access to medical care
5. good jobs for medical field & customer service
5. affordable (rent+tel+electric about $1000 a month for 2bdrm apartment)
