I'd like to move to America, where would be the best place for me to live?
My criteria are:
1) Not too violent
2) Not too expensive
3) Not full of crazy redneck racist homophobes
4) Near some nice places for cheap camping ie. forest/National parks/quiet beaches
5) Easy access to theatre, foreign films, live music, art galleries, concerts, music festivals etc
6) Warmer climate, let's say at least south of New York, preferably closer to Louisiana/Florida/San Diego
7) Somewhere you could keep a couple of large dogs, so either big houses or large gardens/properties with cheap rent
or if there is a place that has trailer parks that aren't complete sh*tholes and allow dogs that would be okay
8) Prefer plenty of clean parks
9) Good public transport
10) Easy to get work
11) Places to buy organic produce

I'm just wondering, because lot's of Canadians always say that Americans don't learn anything about Canada in the schools, and people here in Canada, say Americans think we live in igloos. They say in the schools here we are more educated and we learn about the USA in the schools here.

I personally don't see why Americans need to learn about Canada and vice versa, but the people here ***** about it all time. I'm in grade 10, in a town outside Toronto and I still haven't learned anything about the US in any of my classes, so I don't get why everyone here is saying that. It's really annoying, because I've been to the US and I have relatives in Atlanta and there really smart and they own like a business and stuff.

I live around Sacramento, I'm 16, and I got a car for the entire day. I'm going with a couple girls and a couple guys, all my age. What could we do all day that's really fun and legal? We can only stay around Sacramento, and I'm asking this because we were going to go to Six Flags, but all the amusement parks in California were closed. I'm going on Tuesday.

6 of us want to go to the PA mountains that are closer to Pittsburg (Altoona area), and stay for 3 nights (from Dec. 30th to Jan 2nd). We want to get a house(or cabin) with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, fireplace. Something like a hot tub would be nice, maybe even a pool table, grill... Close to a mountain (we love to ski, and snowmobil)

Looking all over the web, and cannot find anything! Does someone know how to look for that sort of stuff? Please help.

Well, my children all have plans for the Thanksgiving holiday, therefore, I will not have any plans. So I have decided to take a trip to Washington DC for the day. I will be traveling by train to arrive and depart for the trip. My questions are... will most things be open for this holiday? Will the bus and rail systems be moving about? Mostly everything that I want to see is outside and I do not plan on eating nor shopping. I am in hopes that I can pull off this trip for around $140.00 with the round trip train travel costing $128.00. I hitch hiked across the US when I was 16 so I know how to go places with out spending a lot of money and yet still having a blast. So any ideas you may have that you would like to pass on would be great. I will have 7 hours and 45 minutes to do everything I can. I am not beyond eating somewhere that will not cost an arm or leg but close enough I can walk from the memorials.

Plz tell me what is the COMPLETE number which I should dial to talk to a friend in, say, Texas?
For example the number is (817) 123-4567.

Now I suppose 817 is Texas code. While other nos. are person's individual no. What does '-' mean after 3rd number?
