We are looking for a place to live for a couple of months where you can walk to the post office, grocery store etc. like you can in Amsterdam.

Boston is known as America's walking city- It's a small city compared to places like New York , but it has so much culture and excitment packed into this great area that it's tons of fun. I've lived in boston for 16 years and I've never been bored or stuck without being able to get somewhere.

Walking and the use of public transportation are most common in the North Eastern States.

Vail, Colorado is a town like that. You can't bring your car into town, so I just heard from a friend who visited. Not sure if its a season thing or what, but she had to park her car in a garage and walk through town.
