I had searched on the biggest airport in the US but cant find it. What I found was the busiest terminal airports in the world:
1. Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport
Location: Atlanta , Georgia
2. Chicago-O'Hare International Airport
Location: Chicago, Illinois
3. Los Angeles International Airport
Location: LA, California
4. Dallas/ Forth Worth International Airport
Location: near Dallas, Texas
5. Heathrow Airport
Location: London, England
4 of this is in USA.

According to the LAx World Airport website,LAx ( Los Angeles International Airport) is the world's 5th busiest passenger airport & ranks 7th in aircargo tonnage handled, & its popularity shows no sign of decreasing.
O' Hare International Airport, according to Wikipedia is the world's busiest airport in terms of takeoffs & landings. However, federal rulings limited its flight making Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport became the busiest . However, O'Hare took the title back from Atlanta. It was voted Best Airport in 2003 in North America.
None of my readings mentioned which is the biggest! One of the one mentioned in the site is largest in terms of passengers, therefore it is not in terms of area!

I believe the busiest airport is Atlanta. The biggest may be O'Hare, but Atlanta has more traffic. It is a major hub.

Define "biggest"?

ORD has the most takeoffs/landings (for 2006 - ATL took the title for the previous few years)

LAX has the most O/D (origination/destination, rather than connecting) traffic in the world.

DEN is the largest by acreage.
