I am outside of USA.
Plz tell me what is the COMPLETE number which I should dial to talk to a friend in, say, Texas?
For example the number is (817) 123-4567.

Now I suppose 817 is Texas code. While other nos. are person's individual no. What does '-' mean after 3rd number?

Plz tell as I am not acquainted with American style of writing phone nos.

the dash after the 3rd number does not mean anything, it is just the way the number is written out. go to web address below and click on the country you are in and it will tell you exactly what to dial.
