I recently moved from Chicago to Hagerstown, Maryland for a new job offer. The only bad thing is that I left all my friends in Chicago. I moved here without knowing anyone. I just did it to have a job. Moving here is like starting over. How can I start making new friends? What should I do? I'm really an outgoing person but I have not met new people. Also, I'm not into going to the bars by myself. HELP ME MAKE NEW FRIENDS!!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew the best route to go. I am going in December and would feel a lot better if I could avoid going through the roughest parts of the mountains. Map quest and things like that just show me the fastest way. I would rather find the safest way. I am not a good driver in the snow and am alrealy nervous! Thanks

Which is better Cedar Point of Kings Island. In my opinion it's Cedar Point. It has the best coasters.

Hi. I'm going to go to New York City in a few months, and I'm planning everything now. A few questions:
1. How long does it take to get there by car, from Cleveland OH?
2. What should I visit/see there?
Any other info would be great. Thanks!

I am not interested in skiing, but very interested in tubing- snow tubing. My husband has NEVER seen snow (we are from Texas) and we want to take a winter vacation in January for our 10th anniversary. Where should we go? Also interested in historical hotels, haunted places, etc.

My wife and I really were charmed with the city when we drove through on our way to Jackson WY. We stopped at the Safeway for soft drinks and decided to drive around downtown. What is the economy based on. I am a radio engineer and my wife has a degree in mass communications. How far are the mountains from Trinidad?

I will drive and can take 1-2 months doing this trip, for I want to visit hot springs, and hike around parks. I like very natural settings, and camp grounds don't have to be very organized. I like nature and nudist spots, What do you suggest? I want to spend the least amount $$ possible. The route I have considered is: CA:San Diego-Los Angeles-San Jose-San Francisco- NV:Reno- UT:Salt Lake City- CO:Denver- TX:Amarillo-OK:Oklahoma City- AK:Little Rock- TN:Memphis-Nashville- NC:Ashville-GA:Savannah- FL:Jacksonville
Please suggest any parks, camp grounds, nudist natural out of the way hot springs, hike routes, very inexpensive safe motels/hotels, budget healthy restaurants/meals to eat, and any other things I must see or do on this route. Also any gear or clothing I have to consider for the trip. If you have any route changes please suggest it too. I am not pressed for time, but will be pressed for money. Consider only the places you are an expert at or have been to yourself.

and Americans?

Well, maybe "Hate" is a strong word...but everywhere I go especially after 9-11...I always have at least one or two conversations with someone mistaken me for Condi Rice...
--all in my ear about what they don't like about American Foreign Policy
--all in my ear about how stupid Americans are. i mean come on now...America is the number one superpower in the world...if we're all so stupid, what does that make the rest of the world?
--Sometimes I sit there listening to people bash America (as they chow on their McDonalds while listening to their latest Beyonce CD) and I wonder...What in the WORLD do you expect ME to say? I'm American. I love traveling, seeing other places and meeting new people...but at the end of the day...
