If you're flying directly from the UK to the USA then currently you don't need a visa. You will have to fill out a visa waiver form on the plane though (this is provided by the cabin crew).

If you plan to visit for an extended period of time, you do need a visa. However, I am guessing it is for a vacation which you do not need one. You are allowed to stay in the US without a visa for 3 months.

Edit: You may also want to bring a medium heavy jacket. It is still considerably warm in Texas during the day but gets quite cool at night. You can always bring a jumper with a jacket and you should be warm.

You do not require a visa to go anywhere in the United States as long as you are staying less than three months. Anything longer than that requires a visa. You will need a valid passport though.

You MUST have a FULL and VALID passport to visit the USA, If your passport shows you are a BRITISH or IRISH citizen you do not usually need a visa* but can use the VISA WAIVER PROGRAMME (form supplied at airport or on flight).

*Under certain circumstances (eg. if you have a criminal record) you may require a visa and you could be refused entry into the USA

No such place as dalles. There is a Dallas, and you do need a visa to go there. It is in America and all visitors require a visa. You will have to go to the American Embassy to get it as does anyone going with you. Make sure you spelling is correct on the form or it will be rejected and you will have to apply again.

Citizens of the European Union countries normally do not need visas to enter the US. But the final word on admittance is that of the immigration official at the entry point.
