I am traveling in mid-November, but not over Thanksgiving. I am taking a makeup-artist training course near Fifth and W 20th St., Manhattan. I hope to stay in walking distance, but a short cab ride is okay too. Coming from SF, staying around a week, starting on Nov. 11th or 12th. The only amentites I care about are safe, clean, no shared bathrooms. Hoping to get something aroun $125-$150 per night. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Hi
Ill be moving to NY in a couple of years-after im done with my hotel mgmt degree-I will be starting off with $45,000 annualy and my girlfriend makes $40,000 already. So we're willing to spend 1500$ -2000$ on a 1 br apt.

MOST IMPOTANTLY
I hate the bay area coz its too quiet-i want a neighboorhood where i get up at 3.00 AM and i can see people moving about or cars going around-I love the busy street noise. When i get up at 7.00 AM i wanna see people going to work and everyone in a hurry.
Do you think midtown East is what im looking for-and also is midtown east safer than midtown west.
I found a LOT of listings on craigslist for Upper east side,Upper West side,Midtown for that price range.
Thanks
Andy

I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I have now decided to do something about it. I would like to live in a city environment. Other things that would be important to me are: job opportunites, financial aspects (expense of living costs in particular), quality of the area, ease of travel (to visit the UK and other parts of America), social life, how far from the beach, and how welcome the people would make a British girl! And anything anyone else can think of that would be important to someone who is totally unfamiliar with the area. I have been thinking about New York, California, Washington, Massachusetts, places similar to that, but I will listen to anyone's suggestion. I would also be interested to speak to anyone who has relocated recently, or who knows the likely financial costs of doing so. Thanks to anyone who can help me!

I'm going to NYC next month and I'm trying to find out were I can find some totally chic (and yet cheap and afordable) shops for clothes and accesories. I LOVE to shop, so if there is a particular area that has lots of shops like this on a certain street that you know of, that would be great! (I've heard chinatown is good, what do you all think?)
