Does the Flat fare of $45 (plus tolls) apply when going to JFK or just from JFK .

Also, how much do tolls usually run.

How long would it take to get to the upper west wide to JFK before 5:00 am?

I was wondering if anybody knows if there are packages available; i.e., a hotel we could stay at the arrages tickets, something like that. Neither of us has ever been to New York, I'd like a nice place to stay right near Yankee stadium, I was wondering if anyone can help me find a good deal!!

Is this a safe neighborhood? I know it's N.Y. and all, but how safe is it here? Considering renting and Apt. for the weekend here.

I'd like to spend New Years in NYC in 2007/8. I'm looking for a hotel that would have a good view over Times Square. Because, although it'd be fun to be elbow-to-elbow with everyone on the ground, I'd like the choice to not be in the crowd yet see what's going on. Suggestions?

other than NYC? My husband is a big history buff and I would like to plan a weekend getaway for our 20th anniversary. We live in NY State - Westchester County, and grew up in NYC. So, we pretty much know the city. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on living in Manhattan or Brooklyn but am completely oblivious about Brooklyn. Any tips on Manhattan would be appreciated too (I will be frequenting Wall Street regularly).

I'd research it myself, but I'm too lazy. Will be going in the late Spring or early summer.

I am looking forward to visiting NYC (Manhattan), but I am discouraged. It seems there are no budget hotels in NYC. The affordable ones that I found have sharing bathrooms and I do not really like that idea.
Please help me with some decent hotels.

Does anyone here remember? Also, they used tokens exclusively back then, not metrocards, right? Were there machines where you could get tokens, or did you have to buy them from an employee?

I've never been to New York City before. I heard from somewhere it's worth it taking the double decker bus tour once all around the city. I'm from somewhere warm and I hear the only way to really see anything much is to sit on the upper level. I'm wondering: if I will freeze, is it better to go or to skip this tour anyway for some other reason, is there a better alternative to this tour that you would suggest or should I stick with this? I really want to get a good idea of and to see the city and I'm only visiting for 3 days.
