I'd like to spend New Years in NYC in 2007/8. I'm looking for a hotel that would have a good view over Times Square. Because, although it'd be fun to be elbow-to-elbow with everyone on the ground, I'd like the choice to not be in the crowd yet see what's going on. Suggestions?

I read an article this past new year's eve about the best hotels in the Time Square area for new year's eve and... they are probably already booked. Sorry, I don't recall the hotels that they mentioned, but I do remember reading that they book at least a year in advance. I read it in New York Newsday, maybe you can get an archive of it.
