Don't say, "Watch the Super Bowl."

I hit on this idea in college. During the Super Bowl, where will everyone be? They will have their butts parked on the couch, which means they won't be out and about creating crowds everywhere. Since I have absolutely no interest in watching football, this is the perfect time to go and do something that I would otherwise avoid because of crowds.

What is a great place to go in Chicago that would normally be choked with crowds on a Sunday afternoon?

I'm a graduate student in my early 20's planning on moving to chicago in about a year to try to find a counseling internship in the chicago public school system. Basically, I'm just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions on where I should live/work/etc. Somewhere safe, but not too expensive, and at the same time a cool artsy location with a plethora of things to do nearby (such as unique--shopping, music venues, coffee shops, bars, bookstores, etc.)

thank you in advance for your help!!

I've been to new york city many times, and luv it, but can't afford to live there so i'm looking at chicago. My question is since I've never visited there before and only have seen pictures; is it really on par with nyc. Being from the east coast I'm used to fast paced constantly, and chicago since its in the midwest seems kinda laid back; is that true? What's the nightlife like; best neighborhood for someone who's 24 and black? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm going to be visiting Chicago for a night or two (I live near Milwaukee, WI) at the end of March. I'm wondering if I should book way in advance on a site like hotels.com or wait for last minute deals on hotwire.com. Has anyone used this site with success? They have really great last minute deals, but it doesn't tell you the exact name or location of the hotel until after you book it.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this?

Natives of Chicago! What's some inside scoops that the books don't necesarily tell you about? I hear there's a great Indian (as in India) section of the city.

Hey I know that I've posted alot about going to Chicago but I need one more thing. I'm planning on flying out there but when I get there I can't get a rental car becaue I'm only 20. I'll be staying with a friend but he might have to work a bit while i'm there and I dont know if he is able to drive me around to see the city. Any advice at all would work. I would love to just drive there too but by myself that is a long drive and can be expensive. (i live in Northern Colorado, almost 1000miles from chicago) Any thoughts at all would really really really help!!!
