I'm working on my first novel. It is going to be set in Chicago. Could anyone help me by telling me the name of a high-class district of Chicago in the inner city? In addition, I would also need to know a middle class neighborhood and an area that has a reputation for prostitution.

i am going to live in chicago but work in gary indiana. i would have to take the dan ryan highway to get there each morning to work and take it to get back. ive been told there is a 3 dollar charge each way. is there any type of pass i can buy (not ez pass) but like a pass that would allow me to pay a one time fee per month that is cheaper than paying six bucks a day. right now im looking at 120 extra bucks a month just for the damn tolls. is there a plan or way to make it cheaper (obv living in indiana) but im trying to live in chi town. your insite please...thanks!

okay so i am moving to chi town. anyways, ive looked on craigslist and other sites about possible openings for living. but i also heard you can contact agents who will help you find a place and you can give them your specifications. also, i heard you don't have to pay them because they get money from the apts u would sign with...what site(s) or should i say what is the best site to go to to get the info and number to speak with these companies/people.....ty

okay so i was thinking about living in wrigleyville, lincoln park, or the golden coast in chi town. i am now leaning more towards golden coast because it is the most south of the three which would be closer to my work in gary, indiana. is this still a hip place to live.....is it by good bars and restaurant and night life and also by the beach?? whats your insight?? thanks!

School won't be a problem, so where to live? What about climate? The people? Traffic? Things to do at the w/e? What's the cost of living? Is it more or less expensive that other countries/US cities? What about taxes, are they high? Any info would be gratefully recieved. Many thanks.

Chicago calls itself "the windy city", but I have seen San Franciscans claim that their city is more windy, even if not so cold as Chicago. So what city is really America's "windy city"?

I am coming up from Springfield, IL area, so would like to stay near Midway airport, or somewhere else on this side of downtown, but would consider any decent area. Hoping to be close enough to a station where I could walk, if I want to. Looking for room for 4 around $100/night, or as reasonable as possible for a weekend.
