I must go to Chicago in April

It seems like a scary place to visit..

I'm from Canada and am not use to the states at all..

and is it as dangerous as I'm thinking it is..

keeping in mind i'm a native canadian small girl

We are traveling to NW (Schaumbug area) for my husband to attend schooling in mid-June. My two sons (ages 7 and 5) will be with us. During the day while my husband is in class, I need things to do with the boys. There is a pool at the hotel so we will swim but I was hoping for some other things to do as well. I do want to take them to the Field Museum to see the T-Rex skeleton. What else can we do within less than an hour drive of Schaumburg?

I really want to see the movie 300 at the Navy pier Imax theatre in chicago. If you try to buy tickets, though, it only allows for you to buy tickets up to March 11th. It comes out the 9th. I need to see it the weekend after that, on March 18th, but the rest of the calendar is blank. I've been checking for the past few weeks everyday but they're not updating the calendar. Is it possible that they're only showing that movie for 3 days in the IMAX? Where can I get more Information? Anyone have any ideas?

I've always watched the Cubs & White Sox on WGN, but now I've just gotten "HD-WGN". Does anyone know if the HD-WGN will actually broadcast these games in High Definition??? because I know the Cubs & Sox play each other today and the game is listed on the station, but I don't know if the actual broadcast will be in HD.
