I have a friend whose eye sight is not very good, so she does not want to drive. Any suggestions on the best way to travel to her elderly parent's home?

I don't know if Monticello has any public transportation options. But if someone can drive 20 miles to Lafayette to pick her up, she can either take Greyhound or Amtrak from Chicago. Greyhound is about $30 one-way. Amtrak is $17.00 one-way. Both have daily service between Chicago & Lafayette.

Theres not much in Monticello, so I would have to say by bus only. Not sure if any trains go through there are not.

the airlines always offer assistance of that kind. they have the stewardess assist people who need it. if that's too expensive, i'm sure greyhound or some kind of bus service will offer the same help.
