I will be in Chicago to attend a seminar this weekend. I'll arrive on Thursday evening and will have Friday to explore. I've been there before, seen the Sears Tower, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Museum of Science & Industry. That probably indicates the sorts of things I find interesting.

I'll be staying in Oak Brook, but have a car (and, of course, there is public transport).
Suggestions for what to see and do this Friday?

My bf and I we need just a day and night to ourselves. I am trying to think of something my bf and I can do downtown in the day and night time. Just to spend the whole day down there. Just a few things about us to help plan the day....We are older than 21 yrs old so we can drink, and we like to drink. But pretty much we are fun people who just like to have fun and we live 20 mins from the city.

I have trouble applying for Financial Aid and don't want to even try to do it myself because I could put something wrong. I know you can go online to apply for it or go to your college but isn't there other places to go to. I use to go to LULAC (League of Latin American Citizens) because it wasn't far from where I lived at but it's not there anymore. Isn't there any organizations or places I can go to so they can help me.

We're taking a family trip to Chicago...museum of Science and Industry. I believe it's in the Hyde Park area, South Lake Shore Drive. Would that be a safe area for a family to stay at a hotel? Specifically the Ramada Lake Shore? Thanks.

I lived in Chicago for about 4 months and I remember the high crime, pollution, cold winters, etc. But there's a great graduate school program at DePaul University that could really help my career - should I move there? I would probably live near Lincoln Park. I live in Portland Oregon now.

I am interested in relocating to Evanston, Illinois after the year 2009. Evanston is located north of Chicago in Cook County and although Evanston has a good amount of public transportation and is the home of Northwestern University, I do not know too many advantages and disadvantages of residing in Evanston.

My question is, what are the advantages and disadvantages of living in Evanston, Illinois and is it a good city to reside in? Why or why not?

Looking for a fun place to go over the weekend within about 200 miles from Chicago. Just the 3 of us - me, my wife & 14-year-old son. We've been to Wisc. Dells and also Springfield, IL. We are staying on N Michigan Ave. We are 2 young women who love the nightlife (over the top clubs and bars) , live music, good food and anything that can hold our attention longer than 15 minutes. We have never visited before. Just want to know what clubs would be good at night and what we should check out during the day. Please do not tell us to go to metromix.com, we have already visited that site and it doesnt really help. I want some actual advice from people who live in Chicago. Thanks!
