depends...Chicago down town? this would be very expensive as any large city in the US..
rent is high...food is not cheap...entertainment is a bargain...parking is outrageous...public transpiration is cheap...insurance on anything is high...
it would depend on your housing as this would be your biggest expense...but if you lived in the sticks outside of Chicago and took the train to work it would be much cheaper.
Hammond, Indiana is close and its a lot cheaper then Chicago and you could commute..but I am partial to Indiana anyway..as i lived in both places...but it cost me about a thousand dollars a week to live in the Chicago area and I was on an expense account that picked up the tab..actually i could get by on $800.00 a week but i did pad the expense account as i would go home to Michigan every weekend ....so i had to add this to make up for my aggravations

Check the internet for housing costs. It is all bases on what you want too. Do you want a car? Figure about $300/month for groceries. Utilities are based on the area that you live. Probably expect at least $500/month.
Good Luck!

it really is no longer in simple terms this time, even as enormous apple went down for the 2012 Olympics years in the past because of a few stupid controller in Albany who did not help the stadium in new york, the taxpayer money replaced into wasted too. It is going with the territory, once you're going to run for an Olympic city, you're going to face the possibility of dropping no longer in simple terms the chance to host the video games yet as well dropping 1000's of money for the promoting.

I would suggest that you use a cost of living comparison. That is what I usually do every time I move. Here are a few good ones:
