Cubs fan needs help!!!?

Hello all,
I am making my first visit to Wrigley field this year and need help on deciding which Hotel to stay at. Should I stay close to the stadium or somewhere else. Please help if you can!! Thanks!!

There are some missing factors as to what you are looking for b/4 or after the game(s). One thing is known...transportation. Public transportation is very close to Gate F and cheap. Parking a car will cost at least $20. A cab ride is fine but traffic will be heavy around the park. You will end up walking 2 blocks b/4 the game and it will be a little hard to find a cab.

Cub parties. All the bars will have a pre-game and post-game gathering. Tickets should be available.

There are few poor seats in WF. Sections 9-39 are the closest to the field and action. Seats in the 100s are farther back. Seats in the 200s are under the upper deck. The upper deck seat are in the 400s and 500s. The best seats of all 3 groups are in sections that have the last 2 digits between 08-35. Bleacher seats are sections 143-153 and 253. If I were bringing a family or a date I would stay in Evanston and take the CTA do the park. It's about a 20 min ride "over" the neighborhoods and traffic. There are excellent restaurants and it's near the lake. The following site will show Evanston hotels near the CTA:

all cubs fans need help in my opinion... i'm from the STL. i've sung at wrigley a number of times, and in my opinion, staying a little bit away from it is best because of the crowds, but i also had preferred parking so that wasn't an issue. if money's no issue, try the majestic. it's a great place for about $250 a night, and it's overlooking lincoln park which means it's only a block or so from wrigley... if you want a little cheaper but still close, 721 W Belmont Ave is home to the Abbott. A nice little place, maybe 80 bux a night or so, but very close to wrigley also. hope that helped. if not, check out orbitz or something.

I would stay in the River North area which is where most of the hotels and tourist attractions are. You can probably find some fairly reasonable places there, but even a Best Western can be expensive.

There is a Best Western (Hawthorn Place) that is within walking distance. It is a nice hotel and is convenient to Wrigleyville and to Lincoln Park. There is also a Days Inn at Clark and Diversey, which is a long walk (short cab ride) away and is a good location for Lincoln Park night life.

If you decide to stay away from the ballpark, and you've flown into O'Hare, you could stay at one of the hotels near the airport and take the Blue Line to Addison St, then the Addison bus east to Wrigley. The public transportation thing is not for everyone, but it is affordable and away from the rabble.

If you stay downtown, like near Michigan Ave. it's gonna cost a bunch of bling. Probably cost you anyway by Wrigley. Look at what's available here:

Hum... there are a few place you could stay, I would try to stay somewhere in downtown, as it is closer to all public transportation. You can easily jump on the train to get to the ballpark. Once your at the ballpark, it gets really congested and there is tons of traffic, so public transportation is your best bet. Go Cubs.
