Depending on traffic and your speed you should plan for 6 hours. Hop on the Skyway and catch up to the Indiana Toll Road and you are home free. Most of it is 2 lanes and it moves pretty fast.

I took the trip from Chicago to Cleveland. It's about 350 miles, It's about 4-1/2 hours. If you are coming into Chicago, avoid the rush hour of 1pm to 6pm and in the morning of 5:30 to 9 am. From the Indiana border to Downtown with good traffic is 40 minutes, during rush hours will add at least 1-1/2 hours to that. The I-80 - I-94 is congested with construction still, 2 lanes down from 3. The Dan Ryan is starting Construction in March. Look for the alternate route of the Indiana Toll Road. The toll is about $3

it takes about 5 long hours but you could be delayed because chicago is a very crowed city and the highways are crowed when coming in and leaving the city especially downtown chicago. it's a nice trip though, chicago is beautiful.
