A group is lobbying to get a designated "Little Britain" neighborhood in New York City, as there is a Little Italy, Chinatown, etc. Should they get it? What do you Brits, either in the U.S. or in the U.K., think of this?

Flying into Portland. Have relatives in Seattle we want to visit and also going to an event to attend in Eugene.

We love natural scenic beauty and historical culture sites.

I know about Mt St Helens, Ranier, Crater Lake, Columbia River Gorge -- Can't see everything but what should we absolutely not miss?

New York has the Statue of Liberty and Empire State, along with Broadway, Times Square, yellow taxis, crazy drivers, delis, rudeness, ghettos, intellectual snobs, TV broadcast, dirty subways, and so on. Los Angeles and Chicago have their own uniqueness as well that we may already be tired of hearing. But how about Houston, the 4th largest city in the States? Tell me your impression, regardless of whether you've been to the city or not.

I am going to be living in the following areas( MY roomies and me are still thinking) PB, South Park, North Park, Point Loma, Hillcrest. How is the trolly and bus? Any other information would be awesome.

I just graduated and will be leaving North Carolina to work in the downtown Dallas area. I have never been there so I wanted to know where's the ideal place for a young man (23) to live. I will be alone and only have $45,000 a year to work with and I don't know how far that goes in Dallas as opposed to here in North Carolina. I want to be somewhat close to downtown to avoid long trips to work but a reasonable commute is ok. Also, I don't want to live where there's too much crime. It doesn't have to be the greatest place because It's not like I'm raising kids or anything....I just want a safe and affordable environment for myself. It can be an apartment, a condo or a town-home. Doesn't matter to me. Any suggestions??? And please be specific because I have no knowledge of Dallas or the surrounding area just yet. Thanks

So i live in Las Vegas, and next week i'm having a friend fly out to stay with me. i know she's expecting it to be a BLAST, and i really have no idea how to show her a good time. i know of a few things here & there we could do, like go to all the nice shopping malls, restaurants, & things like the gondala ride @ venetian & some clubs. & we have tickets to a couple shows. but ultimately, i'm bad at planning things like this. does anyone have some ideas that would make this fun for both of us???
*is it better to PLAN the trip, or just have suggestions and see if she wants to do them?!!
