I wanted to go from SF to LA taking the scenic Pacific Rt 1, but I was wondering how many hours of driving that adds up to.

About 6 to 7 hours all together, but who cares ? That's the most beautiful highway in America, from Morro Rock to the Frisco Bay. Go..... just go !

it is about 430 miles The road from about San Luis Obispo north through to half moon bay area is some pretty windy twisty roads and could take you all day long to drive. I also do not recommend taking this route, especially through big sur area if the weather is bad or rainy. The roads there often have mudslides and can be closed.

I would give yourself at least 7 - 8 hours. if you have the opportunity to stop and stay the night somewhere you I would recommend it.

Don't let anyone fool you, I have done it more than 3 times - it's 8 hours (with bathroom and food stops). If you have a Porsche (which I did once), it took me 6. The less scenic route, the 5, is shorter, but ugly.

It depends on the time of day you are driving.

From Malibu to Frisco its around 400 miles.

The best way to do PCH is to take a couple of days and enjoy the ride.
