I don't understand! I'm an American, and in our country we are allowed to carry guns. Why not in the UK? I should be an exception to the rule. I'm an American.

We're looking for a hotel in Cambridge Downtown, can you suggest something that's economical? Also, I need to know how far it is from London City and how I can get there (train, bus or cab) and which is most economical. It's for a person with a disability.

What is the average cost of a mid-level flat in London per month? I have an opportunity to pursue a job over-seas in London at 22,000-euros/year + bonuses. Where would that fall in terms of Lifestyle and Standard of Living in England?

4 years ago, I was denied entry to the UK because I had been staying there without a visa, and had worked part time without a permit. It was a tragic event, and I lost everything and had to come back to the US with just one bag of clothes. Since then, I have rebuilt my life here. Two and a half years ago I applied for a 6 day visa to travel to London to pick up my belongings and to see my friends, but I denied the visa. Since then I have got a new passport and have traveled to three different countries in Europe without any problem.
I would still like to return to London to collect my things (which are still in the basement of a flat) and visit my loved ones. I wonder if it is worth going through the visa process again, or should I just simply take the trip? I have no desire to live in England again, and, as I'd said, 4 years have passed since that time. In my paperwork, I was simply denied entry, NOT banned from visiting - any thoughts on what to do?

I live in Hackney (E5 8JA) and have to go to work everyday near Waterloo station.

Ideally, I would take the Bus and then the Tube (the opposite when coming back) and although this way is really quick (30 min.) it would cost me as much as 6 pounds per day! (the cap on Oyster card only apply when you take only the bus OR only the Tube I think).

How can I go to and back from work for cheap and fast?

It has been a long standing dream of mine to live in London for a year or two after I graduated from college. I have been looking at a lot of oppurtunities and one is to be an au pair for a family.
I was looking at it because it would give me freedom from having to find a place to live and I would have weekends off to do what I wanted.

If anyone has done this or heard anything about it please help me out!
