Forget buying, and enjoy London for many things it has to offer to a tourist.
Let me give you the list.
Buckingham palace
Oxford street
Tower of London
Westminster abbey
Trafalgar square
Lord's cricket ground
Enjoy sauntering down the street and look up English girls benignly, do not engage them in unnecessary talk
Do not unnecessarily say hello to a gruffy Londoner,if he is an Indian, because he will not smile back.
Visit a pub in the evening.
Have a good time!

If you are from India, then I wouldn't suppose there's much stuffs you can buy that is actually cheaper as compared to India. I've been to India, and most of the stuffs there are cheaper than the stuffs here in London. The only way you can get cheap clothing is when you come during the sales. I wouldn't suggest you to go flea markets, since it wouldn't be cheap either...

If you are staying in Central London (zone 1), I suppose the best place to shop is in Oxford Street and Bond Street for clothing. If you want to check out the flea markets go down to Camden Town.

I do not think there are a lot of things which are cheaper in London than they are in the UK. Better to spend your time seeing some sights. I really enjoyed the london walks. You'll find brochures in every hotel, and the tourist info. They show you the london you would normally not see as a tourist.

For more info on london, you could go to www.visitlondon.co.uk. They have loads of information, and if you are looking for a bargain, many coupons for discounts on entrance fees etc.

Enjoy!

London is very expensive when it comes to shopping. Look out for sales on Oxford street where you have whole lot of shops. There is also Virgin Music store (and its huge) where you can buy a whole lot of music CDs/DVDs. Sight seeing...buy a tube ticket for tourists and that includes bus fare. This way you can see whole of London!

check out this site, it will give u lots of details. if u going to any place u should enjoy the local favour, in terms of cuisine & sight seeing. do not think of buying anything as these days everything is available in India itself. flea market visit is a must for the experience.

The traditional answer to this one with regard to visitors from India is to visit Marks & Spencer to buy genuine M & S lingerie for younger adult female members of their household.

Don't ask me why.
