I will go to London in the next week, and this is my first time to be there, but only for one day. So, that means this day is very important for me. I have found plenty of spots that I want to see, and I know that is not possible.could you please give me some suggestions about what should I see, and how should I organise the day?

Does the Tube run frequently on 26 December? Does anyone know where I can check to see schedule availability? I'm an American with a flight leaving at 7:30 from Heathrow, so the latest I can be there, I estimate, is 6:45. I'm staying in Oxford Circus (that's my nearest station). Any suggestions that don't involve shelling out about 50 Pounds for two people?

Between 11th and 20th.october...I ordered 3 items from a Newcastle supplier...to be delivered to a SE London address...yesterday(20th.November)...I received a calling card to say "2" items were"too big for letter box"has been returned to my"LOCAL" delivery office...when I lined up in the "crowded" pickup point...I Noticed that not many people were getting their parcels, even though some people had cards they had from last friday?...when I got told my 2 packets werent there...I asked...where are they then?...they said "Battersea main office in SW London"?...since their phone line is never answered...this means that I could be waiting for days...trying to get my goods...which doesnt give me any confidence in their system?...whats going to happen at Christmas?...anyone else out there think "MAYBE"?...the post office should stand down and let someone else have a go?...

We have two weeks in England/Scotland in February. We will be spending one week at work at Spadeadams base on the border between Scotland and England. From there we will have 1 week Fri-Fri to tour the UK.

What do you think? Should I spend a few days in Scotland and go to London? Split the time between just Scotland and Ireland? What are your suggestions as far as what to do? As it will be February, many of the "tourist" things won't be open. I'm going to buy Lonely Planet guide from some more suggestions as to what is *MUST SEE* in the UK.

I'll take all the suggestions you can give. What would you do, put on the border, and then you have one week to sight see?

There are many people in London from all over the world. Do everyone live in peace and harmony? Or do people stick to their own race/country and look down upon other races? I'm just wondering since I haven't been to London but I might be moving there pretty soon. Any kind of opinions are acceptable and please don't misunderstand the question. I'm not trying to offend.
