It's far from Central Finchley and East Finchley and more close to Swiss Cottage...can anyone clarify??

The area around Finchley Road tube station is known as Finchley Road. The area is so called more because of the tube station rather than the road itself. The road itself eventually ends up in Finchley but the area is nowhere near Finchley. As the area is not a suburb with a formal boundary, I am sure some people may regard some of the Finchley Road area to fall within Swiss Cottage. However, the area is predominantly, if not completely within Hampstead (albeit sitting on the boundary between Hampstead and Swiss Cottage).

Finchley Road Station is in Hampstead, London NW3
approximately 4 miles from Finchley Central and 4.5 miles from East Finchley. To reach Finchley Central or East Finchley from central London travel direct on the Northern Line (Barnet Branch). To reach Finchley Central from Finchley Road Station take a route 82 bus. To reach East Finchley from Finchley Road Station take route 13 or 82 buses to Golders Green then route 102.

It's in Hampstead - the post code is NW3 and that's Hampstead. Finchley itself is miles away - much further up the Finchley Road, past Golders Green and Henley's Corner. Finchley ROAD station is just up the road from Swiss Cottage, and Finchley Central and East Finchley are many miles away ! ! !

i class it as "fincley high road", as well thats where it comes out.
hampstead.. hhmm is down the road, but I don't class it as that and swiss cottage is a good hhmm 10 minutes walk ..
