I will go to London in the next week, and this is my first time to be there, but only for one day. So, that means this day is very important for me. I have found plenty of spots that I want to see, and I know that is not possible.could you please give me some suggestions about what should I see, and how should I organise the day?

I was in London for several days this past June with my daughter and 2 grandsons and loved it! If you only have 1 day, this is what I would do.... Take a tour bus (I didn't do this since I had time to see everything at leisure)- I undersatnad that you can get on and off whenever you want. Get off and wander around the area with Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye (across the bridge, which you can walk across). The tour of the Abbey is wonderful and be sure to ride the Eye. Then maybe catch a boat right there next to the Eye and take it down to the Tower of London, which is another great tour (given by the beefeaters and very entertaining). You may be able to catch another tour bus back to where you got off, but I;m not positive about that. There are plenty of city busses though, and they are quite easy to navigate. Also, if you're walking around the area I described, you can also walk easily to Buckingham Palace. That should take care of your day, but you will have seen a lot of the best and most famous of London. Have a fabulous day! (My daughter just took my 5 yr old grandson back to London yesterday for the long weekend!)

i'd say to take a 1/2 day tour by bus , they show all the great sights then depending on what you like you could go to Harrods, The British Museum or National Gallery, etc . You could also take in a special tour such as The tower of London, Westminster Abbey or go to Tussauds or to The dungeons . Thenyou must have diner in a pub and perhaps a show, I've hear "miz" is great there.

I'm going for 3 weeks in Aug can't wait

When I went to London I enjoyed seeing the Tower and also the National Gallery. Piccadilly Circus is really nice also, with lots of stores and shopping. There really is so much to see and do I found having only 1 week there was not enough time. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!

I would suggest goin to see the Tower of London, St Pauls cathedral because its so very beautiful and then head towards the houses of parliment an big ben. If you have time, go on the London Eye, it only takes about 30mins and if its a clearish day then you get great views over london.
Enjoy and have fun!

Take an open top bus tour, you will see half of it in no time, then use the time left to get drunk in a good old English pub!
