I've never been to London so I'd like to know the best places to visit, without spending a fortune. I don't want to end up in the "dodgy" end of town. (I got the word "dodgy" from "love actually"). Yes, I'm geek. Any suggestions? And is London absolutely cool to visit during the holidays?

(trust me, it really isn't THAT exciting). I would just like you to shed some light on the subject, why would you want to leave your massive country, with such diverse 'culture' etc to come here to England?

I am a Natwest customer. A friend in the USA owes me quite a lot of money after we were vacationing together and her cards and passport were stolen and I had to fund her for several days and buy a passport. We are trying to work out a way for her to pay the money without being charged a load for it. I know Western Union would be quick but they would charge her 10% fee and paypal would charge me to accept the payment. Any ideas appreciated.
