There's loads of great places to go and see.
There's an old Gaol in Bodmin. It's really atmospheric, and they still have the gallows there.
Tintagel's quite good, apart from the castle, there's the great hall a 15th century house which looks like it's gonna fall down any day and loads of quaint little shops.
Newquays obviously the place to go for nightlife, but if you were looking for beaches, it's best to keep you eye out along the coastal roads for small turnings. They usually end up in a little car park, and a beach which makes you think you're not in England anymore!
Padstow is a sweet little fishing village, and it has a fish restaurant by some famous chef, but I think you have to prebook.
There's a good cider farm between Redruth and Newquay, which sells to most or the West country, and you can test all their wine and stuff.
My favourite town is definately Perranporth tho. It't not too big, but it very peaceful. It has huge cliffs on the left hand side of the beach which has loads of smugglers caves cut into them. If you're feeling adventurous, you can go climbing in them, but the're quite high up.
Hope this helps.....

It would be extremely unusual, when in Cornwall, to visit:
1) Aviemore
2) Someone else's granny
3) An asylum
4) A disused an non-running Mill.
Have a great trip!

I loved the Witchcraft museum but not sure if it is still there, as it was in Boscastle, and possibly was washed away in the flood!
Other than that, there are loads of ancient monuments if you're into that kind of thing.
There are tin mines and such like to visit - so put a search in and see what comes up!
Cornwall is great anyway. Just the landscape inspires me and I love the gorgeous fishing villages.
The museums in many towns are always worth a visit - some of them are quite random!!! Weird collections, and such like - especially Launceston museum, near the castle! Very strange. And the castle is worth a visit too.
Have fun!

Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station.
It's more interesting than it sounds - really! Even our teenagers weren't bored. If you don't want to do a full guided tour, then tell them at the gatehouse that you just want to go for a cup of tea or coffee - you pay the guy on the gate, who then gives you slips that you redeem at the coffee shop. That way, you can see all the exhibits inside the main building, let the children play on the slides and stuff and have a drink all for the price of the drink!
If it's not too busy, you can even check your e-mails or Answer a few Questions on one of the free internet connected computers.

In their book "Bollocks to Alton Towers. Uncommonly British Days Out" Robin, Jason Alex and Joel recommend the Porteath Bee Centre, north of the Eden Project. Or there is Barometer World but they are in Okehampton which is Devon. I am an old duffer really...

The Minack Theatre is amazing if the weather is nice.
Mousehole makes for a very interesting drive (very narrow, very steep roads down to this little town)

I used to get off the main roads and drive through the lanes, there's loads of cool stuff to stop the car and get out for. It's pretty easy to get lost which makes it more fun.
