PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE US? 11/02/06

http://hasbrouck.org/IDP/IDP-APIS-comments.pdf

"Forget no-fly lists. if the Bush Administration gets its way, beginning on Jan. 14, 2007, everyone will be on no-fly lists, unless the government gives permission to leave-or re-enter-the United States.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (HSA) has proposed that all airlines, cruise lines-even fishing boats-be required to obtain clearance for each passenger they propose taking into or out of the United States.

Whether passport or not, absent a court order to the contrary, no one will have the right to enter or leave the United States, any time you want without clearance request."

Hi,

I'm looking for a cheap place to stay in the Tampa bay area for only 2 months.

The hotels are very expensive for the people who need to stay 2 months!! (like 3000 $ for the less expensive ones!).

I can't afford this.

I can't rent an apartment either because they don't accept a lease so short.

Please help me. Do you know a good solution?

I'm looking for a room or a studio, something cheap.

Thank you in advance.

Are there any customs fees or taxes that need to be paid when entering or leaving Aruba? I know there is a passenger facility charge of $35 on all outbound flights, and an energy tax that comes out to roughly $6 a day on your hotel bill... but anything else?

If so, do you need a visa, or just a passport? Can you fly or take a ferry, and how long for each? What is Russia like? How developed is it for tourism? Would it be safe for a solo female traveler? Any other information I'd be grateful for.

Cheers, K

If you were to have a month to travel, would you try to see as much as you could, or really get acquainted with one or two places? I'm planning on spending a month overseas and I'm trying to decide whether I want to go on a trip to Egypt/Greece/Italy/France/Switzerland/England, or if I want to go to one specific place and get to know the people and culture there.

I live about an hour from San Francisco, one of the world's great cities. However, my small town has only 7,000 people, is surrounded by vineyards/wineries and apple orchards, and was built in the North Coastal range of mountains where the great redwood trees begin growing so thickly. It's beautiful, as the many tourists who come to stay for a week or two every year can attest.

The best part thing about where i live is that, because i have lived here for so long, because my town is small, i know many people. It's home--and home is a feeling, not just a place.

How about you and your home? What's the best thing about it?
