East coast people tend to be more money-oriented whereas west coast people tend to be more outdoor oriented. East coast loves their winters and the clothes that go with it while west coast loves their mountains, rain and beaches. You can find more sophistication on the east coast, but you'll find more environmentally intelligent persons on the west coast. On the east coast a person would rather do something inside while a person on the west coast would rather not do something on the outside. A good place to find info about cities all over is epodunk.com ... a most excellent resource for knowing anything about any city. good luck.

Hmmm... I'm not sure that there's really a BIG difference.
If you're familiar with the stores Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister reflects a bit more of the laid-back, Californian West Coast Style, while Abercrombie and Fitch seems to let off some East Coast vibes. I would say that West Coast has a reputation of being cooler (Probably because of all these crazy songs we hear about California today). East Coast seems more of a "wealthy" community and colder in temperature. (Note: Hollister has a surfboard above their cash registers, Abercrombie and Fitch has a moose! :)
HOpe I answered your question well.

People on the east coast likes watching the sunrising, and people on the west coast prefer watching the sunset.

in general people on the east coast of the u.s. are more aware of the world beyond the united states. out west they are isolated from the rest of the world and seem to think that the world revolves around california. that's a generalization, i know, but that's been my experience.

That is a very open ended question. I am from New Hampshire, and with little cities and not much traffic and things to worry about except snow and cold weather, I think we tend to be laid back. We also say wicked. We do not have that much of an accent, but to some people we sound like hicks...trust me, we arent all hicks.
