I'm going to Berlin in late May. I made a list of things I want to see and do. Any other suggestions are appreciated. I'm in my early 30s, traveling alone on this leg of the journey, and don't care all that much for the swinging night scene. Artsy, cultural, historical stuff for me, danke.

Some things I want to see:
Berlin Zoo (Knut!) and Aquarium
Reichstag
Berlin Wall (Potsdamer Platz)
Museuminsel
Kulturforum
Schloss Charlottenburg
Brandeburg Tor
Fernsehturm

I also am looking into a day trip to either Dresden or Hamburg.

Any thoughts?

Tchuss.

I got married and changed my last name and if I go back to Germany for a visit can I still drive with it? The last name will be different than my re-new passport. I asked the Buergeramt but they can't change my name because I no longer have an address/ registered anywhere in Germany. I just want to make sure I can use the Fuehrerschein legally whenever I'm there.

I'm going to be in Germany for 6 days at the end of May. I'll be going from Barcelona to Berlin. After 5 days, I am leaving out of Frankfurt back to the US. I've been told the easiest thing to do is take the train (bahn.de). I've looked up flights and there aren't many for some reason. Also, I do want to take the train in Germany at least once.

It is a 4-hour train ride:
Berlin Hbf > Frankfurt(Main)Hbf (4:09)

Question 1: Do I really need to book this ticket in advance, or is it just better to do when I'm there?

Question 2: from the website, I can't find where in Berlin (Hbf) the train is. I'll be staying in the Charlottenburg - Wilmersdorf district and I need to know how long it will take me in the morning to get to the train station

Question 2b: is it safe to assume that Frankfurt(main) means the destination is Frankfurt airport?

Many thanks.

The person with the most cities, all accurately spelt, will gain the best answer. I will count a city twice if you can give its German name where the name differs to the English spelling...

What is the temperature going to be like in the first week of April? I tend to feel very cold easily and would hate to be underdressed for warmth. I live in a warmer clime and not used to the European winters. What do the locals wear in this month, do they still need to wear heavy coats and boots? Or can they make do with light sweaters and sport shoes. What are the expected temperatures like? I believe it was still a cold Easter? Anyone who has visited during this time or ppl living there can please help out.

I'm staying in Berlin, Germany for 5 days in May, from a Tues to a Sun. What's the best area to stay in if I want to be close to public transport, not super far from TXL airport, and be close to the train, museums, zoo, etc.

I've seen a bunch of neighborhood names like:
Hotwire.com: Mitte - Kreuzbe, Wilmersdorf - Schoneberg, Friedrichshain - Berlin East

Orbitz: Charlottenburg / Wilmersdorf, Mitte, Tiergarten / Schoeneberg, Friedrichshain / Kreuzberg, Prenzlauerberg

Since the Reunification in 1990, Berlin has undergone a process of continual redefinition and change. This richness, created from the injection of the new into a potent historical structure, has become one of Germany's and Europe's premiere cultural attractions.
The restored identity as the nation's capital has been a driving force in both urban design and cultural diversity. Berlin is now world-famous for its international architecture, fine and performing arts.
