I will be going to Sicily in October and want to make a pit stop somewhere else while I am there. I know it will be the fall, but I am looking towards either Ireland or Greece.
( I have never been to either) Does anyone know of a good place to go in Greece that is still a fun, beautiful place even at that time of year?

I want to have a relaxing but interesting Greek Island holiday with my girlfriend. Is my current itinerary trying to cram too much into two weeks?: Athens (2 days), Hania (2 days), Samaria Gorge, Loutro and south coast (3 days), Iraqlion (1 day), Santorini (1 day), Naxos (2 days). Should we cut out Naxos?

I was thinking of renting a car in Athens, driving it north to the Turkish border (or somewhere close) and taking a bus or a train to Istanbul for my return flight home. but the car rental companies seem to take a huge sum for one-way car rentals. does anyone know of a way to get a one-way car rental that doesn't cost as much? how else can this be done?
