As everyone, I ought to myself to be in Greece! Thus, I have been in Greece dozens of times!
As a matter of fact, I have just returned from Monemvasia! What an experience! To sleep within the castle! Live without any noise from machines! With the waves to pray over the rocks, the smiling people discussing about everything! The rock (the second largest after that of Gilbrardar) protecting all and create a perfect accoustic environment! Then, returning to Athens, passed by so many historic places extending from 2, 3, 4, 5 , 6 thousands of years ago! Vast areas producing the highest quality of honey, wine, vegetables, fruits, ....
Well, I have also been to Crete! The birthplace of the Greek creator: Zeus! Crete, where the alphabet, aviation, city planning, democracy, .... were born!
Rhodes, the island of many beauties and where the first computers, discovered, were produced (26 centuries ago)!
Pella, Florina, Kavala, Zanthi, Orestiada, Olympos, Amphipolis, Meteora, Lamia, Volos, Pilion, Mesologi, Patras, Delphi, Parnassos, Parnitha, Thebes, Olympia, Arkadia, Lakonia, Sparti, Gytheio, Stoupa, Korinthos, .... Euvoia, Salamis, Aegina, Mycinae, ...
Crete, Crete, Crete,
Well, if there was a birthplace of god, it could not be anywhere else!

If you love yourself go there, where Gods live! Think even democracy born there!

Impressions: Blue sky, hot sun, amazing beaches (with rocks or sand), picturesque villages, and history present in every path! The Absolute Beauty !

Athens, Thessaloniki, Delfi (the center of earth), Olympos mountain (the house of Gods), and numerous islands (around 3,000), including Crete, Euboea, the Dodecanese (Rhodes, Kos, Simi e.t.c)and the Cycladic groups (Santorini, Myconos, Paros, Milos, e.t.c.) of the Aegean Sea as well as the Ionian Sea islands(Corfu, Leukas,Zante, e.t.c.).

Greece has the 7th or 8th longest coastline in the world with more than 15,000 kilometers (9,300 mi) of coastline!!!!!!

Also, good food, nice clubs and restaurants, warm weather, no sharks, no hurricanes, friendly people. It's a Paradise!

I just went a few months ago with my wife. We absolutely loved it.Lots of historical things to see. Even during their more recent contruction of buildings or underground trains, they expose past historical artifects and display part of the find, eg glass panel in the middle of a busy walkway showing the remains below.
Food (mediteranian and seafood) was fabulous. Bring a guide book for good recommendations. Also go to the market and supermarkets to see the fresh and affordable food to try.
Must visit the Islands for the beautiful seas and beaches.
Accommodation wise, stayed in more affordable hotels as well as nice service apartments. Cheap compared to many parts of Europe.
Feel very safe walking around too. Transport is easy by trains and ferries. All roads are well labelled with greek and romanised letters(english) names at every junction. Even the building number for the stretch of road to next junction (start number and end number) is labelled. The best I have seen in the many countries I have gone.
Definately loved Greece and highly recommend to you.

Been there four times. Lots of Historic sites and Museums to
see in the day time. Lots of beaches, Lots of Islands, food is
inexpensive compared to the rest of EU. Good for people on
a budget, and lots and lots of nightlife. A really old old place to
visit, but can be lots of fun for someone who likes to travel
to distant lands. If you're a tenderfoot like me, take sandals
with you for the beach. Lots of rocks in the sand. The summer
is hot but mostly dry, not humid. The Aegean Islands are extremely
popular. I spend the days on the beaches and the nights in the
local taverns. Just plain fun all the time.

Yes, Greece was beautiful. I would suggest that if you are going, spend time at the beaches and in the mountains. Also, go in the summertime. The winter months are just like in the US.
