I will be going to Sicily in October and want to make a pit stop somewhere else while I am there. I know it will be the fall, but I am looking towards either Ireland or Greece.
( I have never been to either) Does anyone know of a good place to go in Greece that is still a fun, beautiful place even at that time of year?

I would advise you to go to Lefkada which is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. But for October it might be out of visitors :-) So, Corfu is the next option... There are still many visitors even on October but do not expect a crowded island. Beautiful beaches, great food, nice bars and great hospitality!!! Also, it is not too far from Sicily (it is at the West side of Greece, Lefkada is also close ;-))

The closest place to Sicily ,in Greece, is Corfu.Corfu is great and it has tourism and fun even that time of year. I would also suggest Kefallonia.

You won't be far from the French Rivera either. Ireland that time of year might be a bit wet. There is also Italy to consider.
Depending on how much time you have you can get rail passes ahead of time and maybe fit in a few places.

I doubt if there are any direct flights from Sicilly to Greece. It is very possible that you will have to fly to Rome first and then get another plane to Athens, Greece. Spending the limited time of your vacation like this doesn't sound right to me.
My suggestion is to visit Florence or Rome or Venice. They are all beautiful and it will be easy for you to find direct flights from Sicilly.

Do yourself a favor! Visit Greece, the land of heroes, philosophers! Visit Crete the island the creator chose to be raised!
